Grant Guidelines: Guido Masiero Manchester Essex Regional High School Scholarship Fund
The Guido Masiero Scholarship has been established to honor the life of Guido Masiero. A physical education and health teacher for 37 years, he was committed to personal health and well-being. His curiosity and enthusiasm for these subjects was unabated throughout his life. In addition, he was the visionary behind Guido’s Fresh Marketplace, a family business that has operated since 1979 in Berkshire County.
The Guido Masiero Scholarship Fund was established at Berkshire Taconic in 2006.
Eligibility
Applicants must be graduating seniors of Manchester Essex Regional High School who are entering their first year of a two year or four year regionally accredited college or university to pursue studies in physical education, health and wellness, or business studies.
Awards
There will be one award of $1,000 given each year. Awards will be paid for the student’s second semester provided evidence is submitted of being enrolled and in good academic standing.
Applicants will be informed of Berkshire Taconic’s decision within two months of the deadline date.
Review Criteria
The committee will review requests for scholarships according to the following criteria:
–His or her ability to overcome challenges
–Exhibition of a strong work ethic
–Exceptional dedication to his or her area of interest
Applications will be reviewed by the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation Scholarship Committee. Their recommendations will be reviewed by Berkshire Taconic’s board of directors.
