Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation Announces New Scholarship Award
August 25, 2010
SHEFFIELD, MA—The Michael P. O’Brien Scholarship Fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, announces this year’s grant recipients. The fund was established in honor of the late Michael P. O’Brien, a young pilot and graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High School (’07).
The scholarship recipients were chosen by representatives of the Mount Greylock Regional High School based on the criteria of an expressed desire to enter the field of aviation or engineering. This year’s recipients are: Connor Fields of Lanesborough and Erin Manners of Williamstown (underwritten by the Adams Cooperative Bank).
The fund also supports students who are a child or grandchild of a current South Adams Savings Bank employee or trustee enrolled in a two- or four-year accredited college or university. Those recipients are: Miranda Bona, Clarksburg; Kaitlyn Faucher, Adams; Owen Morris, North Adams; Justin Pelczynski, Adams and Andrew Rinaldi, Adams.
In recognition of these students Michael’s father Charles O’Brien stated, “Our family is pleased to honor these students in memory of our son. He would be proud of their initiative as they strive to achieve their dreams.”
