Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation Announces $189,380 Awarded in Scholarships to over 136 Students from Berkshire County

SHEFFIELD, MA—23 scholarship funds recently awarded a total of $189,380 in scholarships to over 136 students from Berkshire County. The funds, which include the Charles and Elinore Agar Fund, the Caligari Family Scholarship Fund, the Honorable James P. Dohoney Scholarship Fund, the Housatonic School Scholarship Fund, the Guido Masiero Scholarship Fund, the Louis N. Massery Scholarship Fund, the McLaughlin Wilson Scholarship Fund, the William J. Newton Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Esther Samuels and Mabel Cornman Scholarship Fund, the West Stockbridge Grange Scholarship, Williams Academy Fund, and Williams High School Scholarship Fund—are all endowments of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
Berkshire Community College students receiving grants were: Christhian Cabrera and Nancy Palacios from The New World Fund, which awards grants to new immigrants to the Berkshires who are enrolled at Berkshire Community College; Dina Oakes for the Rhoda Rubin Memorial Scholarship for nursing students; Rebecca Caramel, Geofrey Gamache, and Gerard Greene were awarded scholarships from the Isringhaus Scholarship Fund; and Kelsey Stasiewski was awarded the J. Edward Dery Scholarship, which is given to students graduating from a local high school in the Pittsfield/Dalton area who plan on attending Berkshire Community College.
The Charles and Elinore Agar Fund awards annual scholarships to graduating seniors of Monument Mountain Regional High School in Great Barrington, MA who have an interest in pursuing science, engineering, history or creative writing. This year, Ben Fish of Great Barrington received a scholarship to Cornell University.
Christopher Young received a scholarship from the Caligari Family Scholarship Fund, which supports Monument Mountain Regional High School seniors who plan to study art or design after graduation. Mr. Young will attend the Mass College of Art & Design.
Ten students received scholarships from the Honorable James P. Dohoney Scholarship Fund, which supports graduating high school seniors who are residents of south Berkshire County. Scholarships were awarded to: Elizabeth Tomich of Great Barrington, to attend UMASS Amherst; Jennifer Sullivan of Ashley Falls to attend Champlain College; Samara DiMouro of Hinsdale to attend Endicott College; Katelyn Olds of Lee to attend Bridgewater Sate College; Kurt Alles of Great Barrington to attend Middlebury College; Johana Arias of Great Barrington to attend UMASS Boston; Katelyn Campetti of West Stockbridge to attend Keene State College; Joseph Heath of Pittsfield to attend Brigham Young University; Mariah Cook of Sheffield to attend the Academy of Massage Therapy; and Stephanie MacLeay to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology.
The Housatonic School Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to graduates of the Housatonic School, their descendants and residents of Housatonic. This year’s grant recipients were: Kevin Norton to attend Westfield State College; Katelyn Leveille to attend Berkshire Community College; Kaitlyn Ryan to attend Xavier University; Olivia Wilber to attend Dean College; Erin Ryan to attend Boston College. Jordan Banach to attend UMASS Amherst; Justin Leveille to attend the University of Vermont; and William Bunnell to attend the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute received this year’s Arthur P. Gennari Jr. Scholarships.
The Guido Masiero Scholarship was awarded to Arielle Fabiano of Richmond to attend Northeastern University.
Mary Salatino, received the Louis N. Massery Scholarship which is awarded to Pittsfield High School Seniors with backgrounds and an interest in leadership and service.
The McLaughlin Wilson Scholarship Fund awarded scholarships to Monterey residents and high school seniors Ashley Backhaus, for Berkshire Community College; Nina Cobb for NSCA; Norah Crossnohere, for Skidmore College; Keller Dinan for Endicott College; and Jason Duryea for Unity College. Undergraduates receiving scholarships are: Oona Sellew, Ithaca College; Bennett Ferris, Brown University; Jesse Johnston, Northeastern University; Jessica Brown, UMASS Amherst; William Casey, Plymouth State College; Annabel Edelman, Hampshire College; Dinah Mielke, Endicott College; Grace Mendel, Grinnell College; Barbara McAlister, Mt. Holyoke College; and Emily Shaw, Roger Williams University.
Mikki Rae Lennon was awarded a scholarship for children of Quality Printing employees to Endicott College.
Jasmine Wright of Pittsfield was awarded the William J. Newton Memorial Scholarship, which provides scholarships for Berkshire County residents pursuing studies in trade and industrial fields at a college, technical, vocational or trade school. She will attend Universal Technical Institute.
The Esther Samuels & Mabel Cornman Scholarship Fund, which awards grants to graduating seniors of Lenox Memorial High School, has awarded a scholarship to Samara DiMouro of Hinsdale, to attend Endicott College.
The West Stockbridge Grange Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors who are residents of Great Barrington, Richmond, W. Stockbridge or Stockbridge to pursue studies in a career which will ultimately benefit the community. This year’s recipient is Katelyn Campetti of West Stockbridge, who will attend Keene State College. The Williams Academy and Williams High School Scholarship Funds provide awards to graduating seniors of Monument Mountain Regional High School. Scholarships were awarded to Emily Boyer, Casey Searing, Taran Korte, Lily Michaels, Emily Boyer, Jonathan Chabon, Andrew Flower, Andrew Martin, and Andrew Rota.
