Berkshire Taconic Offers Seminar on Connecticut Estate Planning

Great Barrington, MA—Great Barrington, MA—Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation announced today that it will sponsor a seminar on Wednesday, February 10 to update professional advisors in the Northwest CT community on current issues in estate planning. The seminar, “Changes to the Connecticut Estate Tax” will be conducted by Donna D. Vincenti, Esq. She will discuss recent changes to the CT Estate tax and the impact of these changes on the estate plans of Connecticut residents and non-residents who own real estate in CT.
Topics at the seminar will include the “new” Connecticut estate and gift tax; the history of the Connecticut estate and gift tax; examples of taxation for Connecticut and non-Connecticut residents; planning techniques; and how to avoid “tax traps.” The seminar will be held on February 10, 2010 from 8:30-10:30 am at the Interlaken Inn, 74 Interlaken Road, Route 112, Lakeville, CT. Breakfast will be served. The cost is $25 per participant. Registration is required, and can be done here. The registration deadline is February 3. Donna D. Vincenti is a member of the Executive Committee of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. As co-chair of the State Tax Sub-Committee, she was actively involved in efforts to reform Connecticut’s transfer tax system in 2005. Donna is a Past President of the Connecticut Estate and Tax Planning Council, Inc. She is a full member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), an international network of experienced Trusts and Estates professionals. Donna also serves a Professional Advisor to the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
