May 1 Deadline for Columbia County Scholarships

SHEFFIELD, MA—Four scholarship funds in Columbia County managed by Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation are accepting applications through May 1. Guideline and application information is available online or by calling Berkshire Taconic at 413.229.0370.
The funds are:
Dr. Luis A. Jacomé Scholarship Fund—$1,000 scholarship available to graduating seniors of Ichabod Crane High School who will be entering their first year of a two-year or four-year nationally accredited college or university with a particular interest in the field of health or science.
Cha-Nel Scholarship Fund—Available to graduating high school seniors of Chatham and New Lebanon High Schools and students who are entering their first year of a two or four year college or university. Award criteria include: significance of the scholarship to the student, demonstration of motivation to succeed in pursuing a two or four year college degree, financial need and academic potential. Awards may be renewed if the student continues to meet the scholarship criteria.
Ferris Burtis Scholarship Fund—Students eligible are graduating high school seniors who are full-time residents of the Berkshire Taconic Region and have been accepted in a conservatory or school of music for the fall term 2011 for the purpose of pursuing a career in some form of classical music.
Quailwood Scholarship Fund—This scholarship is available to full-time residents of Red Rock who have been accepted at a college or professional program. Scholarships are awarded based on the student’s academic achievement or potential, efforts and ambitions to meet life goals, and financial need. Awards may be renewed.
