Germantown Student Education Foundation Announces March 30 Grant Application Deadline
February 23, 2011
SHEFFIELD, MA—The Germantown Student Education Foundation announced that March 30 is the deadline for grant applications for the Germantown Student Education Arts and Humanities Endowment Fund. The Arts and Humanities Fund supports the enrichment of the educational experience of students and teachers in the Germantown Central School District through access to programs in the arts and humanities that emphasize excellence, innovation and creativity. The Germantown Student Education Foundation is a fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
Students, teachers, administrators, staff, parents and community members of the Germantown Central School District are invited to apply for the grant for the 2011-2012 school year. A committee of school personnel and community members will review applications based on: excellence of the project, impact on the school community and ability of the applicant to carry out the project. Applications are available at the Superintendent’s office and online.
Grant awards will range from $100 to $2,500. Possible projects include, but are not limited to: independent study, new programs, extracurricular activities, individual creative projects (in or outside the classroom), visiting speakers, artists-in-residence, professional development for teachers, library resources and class field trips. Preference will be given to activities that take place within the school community.
The Germantown Student Education Arts and Humanities Endowment Fund of the Germantown Student Education Foundation was established in 2008 with a gift to the endowment from an anonymous donor in the Germantown area.
