May 1 Deadline for Northwest Litchfield County Scholarships

SHEFFIELD, MA—Three scholarship funds in Northwest Litchfield County managed by Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation are accepting applications May 1. Guideline and application information is online or by calling Berkshire Taconic at 413.229.0370.
The funds are:
George and Lucille Buterbaugh Scholarship Fund—This $1,000 fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors of Housatonic Valley Regional High School who will attend an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or professional institute and for whom this award will have a significant impact.
Ferris Burtis Scholarship Fund—Students eligible are graduating high school seniors who are full-time residents of the Berkshire Taconic Region and have been accepted in a conservatory or school of music for the fall term 2011 for the purpose of pursuing a career in some form of classical music.
Teddy Lee Drumm Memorial Scholarship—Available to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Sharon, CT. Applicants must be accepted into an accredited college, university, vocational, technical or professional institute in the United States and demonstrate academic potential, financial need and the desire to advance in a profession. Awards may be renewed if the student continues to meet the scholarship criteria.
