Northeast Dutchess Fund (NED)
Berkshire Taconic formed the Northeast Dutchess (NED) Fund in 2002 to improve the quality of life in Amenia, Clinton Corners, Dover Plains, Millbrook, Millerton, North East, Pine Plains, Stanford, Washington, Wassaic, Wingdale and their hamlets.
In 2007, the Carson Family Charitable Trust pledged to donate $550,000 to NED over the next five years to address specific needs of low-income and immigrant families in the area.
In response, NED created NED CORPS, a program that provides two bilingual case workers who travel to meet with clients in Amenia, Clinton Corners, Millbrook, Millerton, Pine Plains and Stanford. The case workers connect clients with social services that provide health insurance for children, translation assistance, emergency relief, free prescription drugs, food, shelter, mental health programs and other services. The Carson grant also supports the Latino Outreach program in Grace Church in Millerton.Advisory Committee
