Administrative Fees

Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. When you establish a fund at BTCF, you are making an investment in your community. The fees you pay help support programs that make life better for everyone in our region.

Our Fees Cover:

  • Operations & administrative costs
  • Investment oversight
  • Grantmaking services
  • Management of over 500 charitable funds
  • Support to nonprofits in the region
  • Financial management:
    • Processing of approximately 3,500 grants and 5,000 contributions/year
    • Compliance with IRS regulations
    • Annual filing to public agencies
  • Research of community needs
  • Distribution of over $7 million/year toward good works

Your fees also help us implement important community leadership initiatives to solve regional problems.

Fees

  • Minimum to open: $10,000
  • Endowed minimum: $25,000
  • 1.5% per year on first $250,000
  • 1.25% per year on portion $250,000 - $1 million
  • 1.0% per year on portion $1 million - $3 million
  • 0.75% per year on portion $3 million and above
  • Or 3% of grants given out, whichever is higher
  • Minimum quarterly fee: $87.50
  • Minimum to open: $25,000
  • 2.0% per year on first $250,000
  • 1.75% per year on portion $250,000 - $1 million
  • 1.0% per year on portion $1 million - $3 million
  • 0.75% per year on portion $3 million and above
  • Minimum quarterly fee: $125
  • Minimum to open: $25,000
  • 2.0% per year on first $250,000
  • 1.75% per year on portion $250,000 - $1 million
  • 1.0% per year on portion $1 million - $3 million
  • 0.75% per year on portion $3 million and above
  • Minimum quarterly fee: $125

  • 1.5% per year if balance is less than $250,000
  • 0.75% per year if balance is more than $250,000

Investment Management Fees

Investment management fees are generally assessed quarterly by the investment managers we hire. Investment performance is reported net of investment fees.
