BTCF Leadership Initiatives

Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation works to strengthen our region through leadership on important issues. Our board identifies these issues, and we build resources to address them and help our region prepare for the future—bringing together people, ideas, partners and funding.

BTCF Initiatives:

Early Childhood Development - An initiative whose vision is that children from birth to five years in our region develop in a wholesome, healthy, learning-rich environment so that they are ready to learn when they enter kindergarten.

Local Area Funds - Permanent community funds focused on specific towns or geographic areas – supporting programs and services in the arts, education, health, human services and the environment.

Education Enrichment - A permanent source of philanthropic support for remarkable learning experiences for students not covered by tax dollars – for every public school district in our region

Neighbor-to-Neighbor - Neighbors helping neighbors by providing emergency assistance for local families through small grants to help with overdue utilities, medical bills, short-term housing costs and transportation problems.

HousingUs - A tri-state collaborative effort of nonprofit organizations and community leaders to promote affordable housing options in towns throughout our region.

Center for Nonprofit Excellence - Helping our local nonprofits think strategically, govern effectively and operate efficiently.

Fresh and Healthy Food for All - Increasing access to healthy foods and changing the food system to serve all Columbia County residents.
