Berkshire County Scholarships

Berkshire Taconic administers more than 35 scholarships funds for students in Berkshire County who plan to attend an accredited college, university, graduate program or other professional institute. Scholarships generally range from $1,000 to $10,000, and appeal to a variety of interest areas, including political science, engineering, history, physical education, creative writing, nursing and more. Some scholarship funds offer annual grants to students over the course of their undergraduate or graduate careers, provided that the students continue to meet the fund requirements.

All scholarship applications are due March 15, unless otherwise noted.

The Alice and Richard Henriquez Memorial Fund and Youth World Awareness Program provides grants to students ages 14 to 22 for international travel and service. Grants range from $500 to $1,500 for individual applicants; larger grants may be considered for groups. Applications are due Feb. 1.

The Andrea Wagner Women in Science Scholarship Fund awards $1,500 scholarships to female residents of Berkshire County who are currently enrolled at a four-year college and majoring in natural or physical sciences or engineering. 

The Antonio and Antoinette Pieropan Scholarship Fund awards one $3,750 scholarship to a resident of Stockbridge or West Stockbridge. The recipient may reapply each year for a total of $15,000. 

The Caligari Family Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors of Monument Mountain Regional High School who are entering their first year of a college or university with the goal of pursuing a career in an art- or design-related field. Awardees will receive $1,500 annually.


The Charles and Elinore Agar Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors of Monument Mountain Regional High School who are entering their first year of a nationally accredited college or university, with a particular interest in science, engineering, history or creative writing. Awardees will receive $1,000.

The Dana Labbee Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for graduating seniors of Hoosac Valley High School who plan to attend an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or professional institute to study political science, mediation, communications or pre-law. Awardees will receive $1,500 annually. 

The Emma Miller Scholarship supports graduating seniors who are residents of Adams, Cheshire or Savoy who are planning to attend an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or professional institute in the United States. Awardees will receive $1,000 and may reapply for funding the following year.

The Esther Samuels and Mabel Cornman Educational Scholarship Fund sponsors graduating seniors of Lenox Memorial High School who are entering their first year at a nationally accredited college or university. Awardees will receive $1,000 annually.

The Ferris Burtis Scholarship Fund sponsors graduating high school seniors who have been accepted at a conservatory or school of music to pursue a career in classical music. Scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded.

The Garrett Francis Collins and Josephine Goodwin Collins Scholarship Fund supports residents of Hinsdale who have been accepted to an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or professional institution. Grants of up to $1,500 will be awarded. 

Guido's Fresh Marketplace Scholarship Fund supports graduating high school students who are residents of Berkshire County who are entering their first year of a two- or four-year college or university to pursue studies in physical education, health and wellness, or business studies. Each year, at least one award of $1,000 will be granted.

The Honorable James P. Dohoney Scholarship Fund awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors of Monument Mountain Regional High School, Mount Everett Regional High School, Lenox Memorial High School and Lee High School.

The Housatonic School Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to graduates of the Housatonic School and residents of Housatonic who are pursuing a post-secondary education. Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded.

The James E. Bugley Scholarship (Jamie Fund) sponsors graduating high school seniors who are residents of Berkshire County and who plan to attend an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or professional institute in the United States to study music or the vocational arts. Awardees will receive $1,500 annually.

The Jo Anne Huntley Magee Scholarship Fund awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating students of Lenox Memorial High School who are in high academic standing and have been accepted to an accredited college or university. 

The Karen Kisslinger Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors from Monument Mountain Regional High School, Webutuck High School and Housatonic Valley Regional High School who have a demonstrated interest in community health. Scholarships begin at $1,000.

The Mark Huber Basketball Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors of Lenox Memorial High School who are members of the varsity basketball team and are attending a two- or four-year college, university or vocational school. Grants of up to $1,150 will be awarded.

The McLaughlin-Wilson Scholarship Fund supports seniors who are residents of Monterey and are entering their first year at a college or university, as well as prior McLaughlin-Wilson Scholarship recipients. Grants of up to $7,500 will be awarded.

The Michael Elihu Hedges Memorial Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors of Lenox Memorial High School who are attending an accredited school of higher education for the purpose of enriching themselves and the world. Grants of up to $1,500 will be awarded.

The Michelle Gillett Creative Writing Award for Young Women awards $1,000 scholarships to female students of Monument Mountain Regional High School who are seniors during the 2017-18 school year. Applications are due March 1.

The Moe England '53/England Scott Family Scholarship Fund awards $1,500 scholarships to graduating seniors who are planning to attend Colgate University in Hamilton, NY.

The Moonlight Mile Scholarship Fund supports women who are seeking matching funds to support travel or equipment needs for study or athletic competition, professional training, or support for alternative healing. Applicants should be at least 18 years old and live in Massachusetts or New York. Grants range from $500 to $1,200.

The Myrtle and Raymond Mercier Scholarship Fund selects one graduating senior who is a resident of Stockbridge and in pursuit of a technical, associate's or bachelor's degree. The awardee will receive $5,000.

The New World Fund Scholarship offers support to new immigrants who have been in the United States for five years or less and are studying toward a degree at Berkshire Community College, show leadership skills and who have financial need. Scholarship recipients are awarded $1,000 and may reapply for funding for a second school year. Applications are due March 8.

The Nicholas Boraski Family Scholarship Fund supports graduating high school seniors who may not have fully realized their academic potential in high school but have an intellectual curiosity and are committed to pursuing a rigorous higher education curriculum. This scholarship is through nomination only; please be in touch with your guidance counselor. Awardees will receive $2,500 annually. 

The P.D. and Lucy Graybeal Wyantenuck Scholarship Fund supports children or grandchildren of Wyantenuck Country Club members or full-time employees. A single scholarship of up to $7,000 will be awarded.

The Pittsfield Scholarship Fund awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors who currently reside in Pittsfield, attend Pittsfield High School or Taconic High School and have a demonstrated financial need.

The Rhoda Rubin Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund awards $1,000 scholarships to residents of Berkshire County who are pursuing a degree in nursing at Berkshire Community College.

The Simple Gifts Fund awards grants to young people ages 13 to 19 for participation in cultural or creative summer programs. Grants range from $200 to $800.

The Sweet Brook Scholarship Fund providing funding for employees in good standing of the Sweet Brook Transitional Care and Living Centers in Williamstown, Mass., who are planning to attend an accredited school to further their education or personal development.

The Waterman and Remillard Fund awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating students and alumni of Drury High School who are enrolled in a college-level theater program. If there is no student undertaking such a program, the award will be given to a graduating high school senior with significant financial need.   

The West Stockbridge Grange Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors who are residents of Great Barrington, Richmond, West Stockbridge or Stockbridge and interested in studying agriculture, conservation, nursing or teaching. Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded. 

The William and Margery Barrett Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to graduating seniors who are residents of Adams, Cheshire or Savoy and planning to attend an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or professional institute. Scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded, and recipients may reapply for funding each year to receive a total of $20,000.

The William J. Newton Memorial Scholarship Fund supports residents of Berkshire County who are planning to attend a two-year program at a community college or a technology curriculum at a community college, technical, vocational or trade school. Awardees will receive $1,000 annually.

The William Stanley Scholarship Fund awards $3,000 scholarships to Berkshire County residents planning to attend a two- or four-year college and Berkshire County residents currently enrolled at a college and in good academic standing.  

The Winthrop Crane Scholarship Fund for Graduate Student Aid sponsors graduates of Wahconah Regional High School or a vocational-technical program of a public high school who are enrolled at a college or university for post-graduate studies. Grants of up to $2,000 will be awarded.

The Women's Club of the Berkshires Scholarship Fund supports female students in Berkshire County. Preference is given to applicants who demonstrate a commitment to pursue a career that will benefit girls and women in Berkshire County. Grants of $1,200 will be awarded.

The Zenas Crane Fund for Student Aid awards scholarships to graduates of Wahconah Regional High School who are planning to enroll at an accredited college or university. Awardees will receive up to $2,000 annually.
