Scholarship Guidelines
WHO CAN APPLY
Graduating high school students who are residents of Berkshire County who are entering their first year of a two- or four-year college or university to pursue studies in physical education, health and wellness, or business studies.

Visit our online portal to complete our common application, which will determine your eligiblity for all Berkshire Taconic scholarships. Once you have logged in, select "Apply" at the top of the page, then scroll to the bottom of the list to find "Scholarship Common Application."
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Guido's Fresh Marketplace Scholarship has been established to honor the life of Guido Masiero. A physical education and health teacher for 37 years, he was committed to personal health and well-being. His curiosity and enthusiasm for these subjects was unabated throughout his life. In addition, he was the visionary behind Guido’s Fresh Marketplace, a family business that has operated since 1979 in Berkshire County.
Guido's Fresh Marketplace Scholarship Fund was established at Berkshire Taconic in 2006.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be graduating seniors of a high school in Berkshire County who are entering their first year of a two-year or four-year regionally accredited college or university to pursue studies in physical education, health and wellness, or business studies.
AWARDS
Each year, at least one award of $1,000 will be granted. The award amount is expected to grow over time.
REVIEW CRITERIA
The committee will review requests for scholarships according to the following criteria:
- The student’s motivation to succeed in pursuing a college degree or certificate as evidenced by:
- His or her ability to overcome challenges
- Exhibition of a strong work ethic
- Exceptional dedication to his or her area of interest
- Financial Need
- Community Service
Applications will be reviewed by the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation Scholarship Committee. Their recommendations will be reviewed by Berkshire Taconic’s board of directors.
