March 31 Application Deadline Chatham Education Foundation
March 1, 2010
GREAT BARRINGTON, MA—The Chatham Education Endowment announced that March 31 is the deadline for grant applications for its two funds: the Arts and Humanities Fund and the Alexander M. White Fund. The Arts and Humanities Fund supports the enhancement and enrichment of the experience of the arts and humanities among students and teachers in the Chatham Central School District. The Alexander M. White Fund supports projects in all disciplines, including academics, cultural programs, athletics and community service, that enhance and enrich the educational experience of students and teachers in the district. The Chatham Education Foundation is managed by Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
Grants are available for up to $5,000. Students, teachers, administrators, staff, parents and community members of the Chatham Central School District are invited to apply for grants for the 2010-2011 school year. A committee of school personnel and community members will review applications based on: excellence of the project, impact on the school community and ability of the applicant to carry out the project. Applications are available at the Superintendent’s office and online.
The Chatham Education Foundation hopes to be a catalyst for innovative thinking and thoughtful experimentation to generate excitement about and enthusiasm for learning. The Fund for the Arts and Humanities of the Chatham Education Foundation was established in 2002 with a gift to the endowment from an anonymous donor in the Chatham area. The Alexander M. White Fund, established in 2003, is named for a former school board president whose vision led to the creation of the Foundation.
Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation builds stronger communities and improves the quality of life for all residents of Berkshire County, MA; Columbia County and northeast Dutchess County, NY; and northwest Litchfield County, CT. Thanks to its generous donors, in 2009 Berkshire Taconic distributed nearly $7 million in scholarships and grants for programs in the arts and education, health and human services, and environmental protection. Berkshire Taconic is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization.
