November 15 Deadline for Armand M. Oppenheimer Environmental Fund

Sheffield, MA—The Armand M. Oppenheimer Environmental Fund is accepting grant applications through November 15. The Fund seeks proposals from students, teachers, parents or nonprofit organizations for students in grades 7 through 12 in the towns encompassing Region 1 of Northwest Connecticut: Canaan, Cornwall, Falls Village, Kent, Lakeville, Salisbury and Sharon. Projects may take place on the school premises, within the curriculum or after school. Off-campus projects such as participating in bird counts, blazing nature trails, monitoring protected areas or other projects may also qualify for awards. Nonprofit organizations may also sponsor youth to carry out projects. Applications are available here.
A committee of local residents reviews applications and awards grants based on excellence of the project, impact on the school community and ability of the applicant to carry out the project.
