May 1 Deadline for Dutchess County Scholarships

SHEFFIELD, MA—Three scholarship funds in Dutchess County managed by Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation are accepting applications through May 1. Guideline and application information is online or by calling Berkshire Taconic at 413.229.0370.
The funds are:
Ferris Burtis Scholarship Fund—Students eligible are graduating high school seniors who are full-time residents of the Berkshire Taconic Region and have been accepted in a conservatory or school of music for the fall term 2011 for the purpose of pursuing a career in some form of classical music.
The Millerton Grange Scholarship—Available to current residents of the Town of North East who will be studying agriculture or agribusiness in the 2011/2012 year. Applicants should be accepted into or already attending a two or four year college or university and demonstrate financial need, academic promise and strong involvement in community activities. Scholarships will be awarded up to $2,500 per recipient.
The Rhoda Lubalin Art Scholarship—Available to graduating seniors of Webutuck Jr./Sr. High School who have been engaged in the study of any form of visual arts in high school, and who intend to continue art studies in college with a goal of having a career in the arts. Applicants must show evidence of creativity and originality in their artwork and must present a portfolio of work, entirely original, which may include independent projects completed outside the classroom.
