Fund Created for Preservation of Lenox Library's Reading Park
January 10 , 2007
Lenox, MA –Lenox residents have established the Preserve the Roche Reading Park for the Lenox Community Fund at Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation as part of an effort to raise the money needed to enable the town of Lenox to purchase the park. The Board of Selectman of Lenox has requested that donations to the fund be made by January 15 to facilitate planning for the park’s future; however, donations will continue to be accepted after that date.
Contributions to the fund should be sent to Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation at 271 Main Street, Suite 3, Great Barrington, MA 01230. Checks should be made payable to Berkshire Taconic, with “Roche Reading Park” noted on the memo line. For more information on the fund, please contact Denis LeSieur, executive director of the Lenox Library Association, at 413-637-2630.
Berkshire Taconic will hold the fund’s contributions until the town of Lenox is ready to purchase the property. For that reason, donations to the fund are not tax-deductible until the money collected is transferred to the town of Lenox for the purchase. If the town of Lenox declines to purchase the land, the contributions will be returned to the donors.
