Christopher Kennan of Pine Plains Joins Board of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation

GREAT BARRINGTON, MA—Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation announced today that Christopher Kennan of Pine Plains has joined its board of directors. Berkshire Taconic currently has $86 million in assets and more than 500 funds, and distributes more than $7 million in grants and scholarships each year. Mr. Kennan joins 19 other local residents who comprise Berkshire Taconic’s board.
Mr. Kennan is a private investor based in Pine Plains. From 1998 until 2001, he was registered representative at Melhado, Flynn & Associates, an investment management firm in New York City. Before that, he founded East River Holdings, Inc., which developed and marketed Latin American investment opportunities to individual and institutional clients.
“We’re delighted to have Chris join us and look forward to benefiting from his financial expertise and extensive experience working with nonprofit organizations,” said Carmi Rapport, board chair of Berkshire Taconic.
The foundation named two other new members: J. Anthony “Tony” Sheldon of Sheffield, MA, founder and principal of Bering Consulting, a consulting firm working with nonprofits and small businesses; and Charles O’Brien of Williamstown, MA, president and chief executive officer of South Adams Savings Bank.
